Project Highlights:

Company/Agency Name: Omni Hotels /
Weber Shandwick
Situational Analysis:
Project Name: The Omni Fort Worth Hotel Launch In 2006, Omni Hotels was selected to build the first hotel in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, in more than twenty years. The property was not only important to the Omni brand, but also to the city of Fort Worth, serving as the city's convention center hotel.

Located directly adjacent to the Fort Worth Convention Center, ground broke on the new property in August 2006. In mid-2007, a year and a half from its grand opening, securing local and trade media coverage was important to help the Omni Fort Worth Hotel sales force secure room and convention bookings. Through strategic media outreach and persistence, Weber Shandwick and the Omni Fort Worth Hotel exceeded media goals in local and trade media outlets.

It was clear the hotel needed media attention early in the building process to assist with sales efforts. However, through proactive media outreach, the team was aware that media outlets were mostly interested in covering the hotel upon its grand opening...

Key Achievement(s): ▪ Weber Shandwick and the Omni Fort Worth Hotel exceed print/online goals by more than 100%.

▪ Weber Shandwick and the Omni Fort Worth Hotel secured 41 broadcast placements.

▪ Because of the year's aggressive media relations, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel landed on the covers of the August 14, 2008 edition of the “Fort Worth Star-Telegram” and the October 2008 issue of “Convention Forum.”
